About Portway Inn
The Portway Inn Hotel is a charming 16th Century Inn nestled in the beautiful Wye Valley near Staunton-on-Wye on the A438, the main Hereford to Brecon Road, approximately eight miles out of Hereford.
We have 3 superior rooms, which are much larger than our standard rooms and are furnished to provide additional comfort.They each feature hairdyers, complementary slippers and a higher standard of linen .
We also provide larger TVs, all with DVD capability.We have 6 standard double rooms, 2 of which can be arranged as doubles or twin rooms. All rooms are en-suite, most with newly fitted high power showers, plus 2 with baths.
New, pocket-sprung beds were installed during the spring of 2010 and all rooms have black-out curtains for a good nights sleep, rooms at the front of the Inn have been fitted with noise-reduction double-glazing to make sure the main road is not an intrusion.
A range of pillows and quilts is available to suit the way you like to sleep. All rooms are non-smoking. Each room has a TV, and most have DVD players. Tea and coffee-making facilities are available in every room, plus biscuits and hot chocolate.
Pets are welcome in certain rooms, and in the bar (but not the restaurant or lounge); there is a surcharge of £5 per pet per night. If you allergic to dogs or cats, please let us know so we can make sure you have a room where no pets have stayed. Our restaurant has been refurbished to provide a relaxed and contemporary space to enjoy food.
Seating is stylish and comfortable with wide seat pads and cushioned bench seating while the tables have been designed to give utmost flexibility in catering for groups of up to 30 at a single table.
The room has views over the garden and flows from the main bar.The Portway Inn is located 1 km from the Wye Valley Walk, one of Britain's long distance paths. There are also a wealth of shorter walks available around the Portway taking advantage of the surrounding apple orchards.
